Vic: Ambulance delivers Boxing Day test warning

Cricket fans are being urged to drink sufficient fluids .. cover up .. and slip, slop,
slap during tomorrow's Boxing Day test.

St John Ambulance has released a plea to the 90-thousand sports fans expected to turn
out to the MCG match to think about their personal safety.

Spokesman PETER COCKS says taking some easy steps could prevent injuries on the day.

Cricket-goers are urged to drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration .. bring warm
clothing for cool weather and any regular medication.

Sunscreen should be worn .. even if it's overcast .. and thongs and open footwear avoided.

About 100 St John volunteers will be on hand providing first aid throughout the day.
