Fed: Positive job news does not change rates cut expectation

CANBERRA, Jan 12 AAP - Job vacancies increased 1.5 per cent to a record high in the
three months to November, figures issued today showed, providing good news for jobseekers
after yesterday's poor figures.

Despite the positive note, economists believe the case for the Reserve Bank to cut
official interest rates next month is building.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) said the number of vacancies had increased
by 1,800 since the August quarter to 119,800, seasonally adjusted.
