QLD: Missing German cyclist found

Queensland police have called off an alert for a German tourist on a cyling holiday in
Australia after he contacted his parents to say he was safe and well.

Police were concerned for the welfare of OLIVER HAIDER, who arrived in Sydney on August 6.

They were alerted when Mr HAIDER didn't make contact with his parents for six days after
setting off on a bike ride to Townsville in North Queensland.

Yesterday Mr HAIDER rang his parents in Munich, saying he was on Fraser Island.
