NSW: Botany man on manslaughter charges

A 25-year-old man from Sydney's south eastern suburbs has been remanded in custody
after being charged with manslaughter.

The Botany man today appeared in Parramatta Local Court for allegedly assaulting 41-year-old
ALLEN ONG, from Glebe, outside a Glebe hotel about 8.30pm (AEDT) on Friday, November 28.

Police believe Mr ONG's head struck the ground after an alleged altercation.

Police say Mr ONG was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where he remained on life
support until he died on Tuesday.

The man's been charged with manslaughter and inflicting grievous bodily harm.

He's been refused bail in Parramatta Local Court and will appear at Sydney's Central
Local Court on Monday.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the incident to contact Glebe Police on 9552 8099.
